Solberg down, Loeb rolls

Here I go being all happy with Petter Solberg’s performance in the Superspecial stage at the Swedish Rally yesterday, and then he mucks it all up today. The second day of the WRC event was really quite boring - again with hardly any snow to brag about. Latvala, impressively, won all but one of today’s seven stages, putting him well in the lead overall, almost a minute ahead of Henning Solberg (yay!) and Hirvonen. Younger Solberg is in 5th.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for Sebastien Loëb’s skills, but the man has had a tendency to make WRC slightly annoyingly predictable. Thus it is with badly hidden glee I can write that he hit a rock today and rolled over, retiring him from the rally! May the best man not named Löeb win.
